The homecoming in Bessastaðir was part of a three-day visit by the royal family to Iceland. The visit is reminiscent of an old story about the Swedish king’s alleged night trip to a strip club in Atlanta in the USA when Carl Gustaf was present at the 1996 Olympics.

A GROUP of Swedish journalists and photographers as well as reporters from Norway and Germany have followed the Swedish royal couple and the crown princess every step of the way during their official visit to Iceland in recent days.
On the website of the Swedish afternoon newspaper Expressen yesterday, a story is published which reports that Crown Princess Victoria set a new record yesterday when she greeted 500 people with handshakes during the 40-minute visit of the princess and the Swedish royal couple to the Nordic House, where they met the Swedish inhabitants of Iceland.
Tireless and always smiling
“For 40 minutes she stood – tirelessly and always smiling – and greeted each Swede one after another. “After about half an hour, she was going to leave the area, but she braced herself and managed to greet 500 people with a handshake and hug a few,” says the report.
