For decades, Ólafur (the Icelandic president) has made sure to exercise at least 50 minutes a day. "We usually start the day with a power walk with Sámi. But I think he started eating healthier food after we met, he now eats more vegetables and less wine bread," says First Lady Dorrit Moussaieff in an interview with Fréttatímann (News Time) when she is asked about her husband's physical condit...
“This is a great honor for me and everyone in LazyTown,” said Sports legend Magnús Scheving in an interview with mbl.is Sjónvarp after his meeting with Michelle Obama, the first lady of the United States, in Washington yesterday, March 5, 2010. Magnús, in the role of Sportacus, played football with the First Lady as well as giving her SportsCandy, i.e. apple
The meeting between Obama and Magnús was on the occasion of the fact that LazyTown will contribute in a campaign to increase movement of American children, where the first lady is the promotor of the initiative called Let’s Move. Michelle Obama arrived at the Bruce Monroe Children’s School in Washington, where Sportacus led a children’s warm-up.
“This is great news for us because the name of the campaign is actually the slogan of LazyTown. They also showed great interest in working with us in the White House, as we are the only entertainment company that cares about children’s health,” said Magnús. Next on the agenda is to take LazyTown to 23 American cities and promote soccer there, in collaboration with the American Soccer Federation.

Apples for Obama
When Magnús Scheving sat down to write about the adventures in LazyTown, it hardly occurred to him that the writing would lead him to a meeting with the First Lady of the United States. Nevertheless, the sports legend met Michelle Obama in Washington yesterday, where they played football together.
The reason was that LazyTown plans to contribute in a campaign to increase physical activity among American children, which the First Lady is promoting together with the American Football Association.
Magnús led the warm-up at the Bruce Monroe children’s school and handed out SportsCandy, as fruits and vegetables are called in LazyTown. Michelle was present and accepted an apple.
