Mike Handley fell for Iceland when he came here as a tourist a long time ago. He made his dream come true, moved to Iceland which he thinks is the most civilized country in the world. “I have never been to a place where I have found everything so perfect. I mean this with all my heart. Of course, I can find some flaws, but Icelanders, compared to other nations, tend by nature to do things the right way, despite the fact that society is so small. The country is clean and the people are well educated. At the same time, I felt the harmony with Iceland.”

Among those who sought his strength was Magnús Scheving, who worked on marketing Latibær. He lacked English names for the characters. Catchy names that would interest Hollywood. “I was more than sure that this was a task for me. I sat down with this and little by little the names started to come to me” says Mike.
Four years later, after extensive marketing work and successful marketing by Latibær, about half of Latibær’s residents have English names because of Mike Handley. Among them is the sadly psychedelic Glanni glæpur who is called Robbie Rotten in English for his filthy nature.
