Latibær is the winter project of the Sólheimar Theater Company and rehearsals began in October under the direction of Edda Björgvinsdóttir. This method was chosen to have more than one actor wrestling with each role. The guiding principle was that everyone would get their dream role. The cast is diverse and about 40 actors take part in the show. Almost all the members of the theater company have put the plow in one way or another to make Latibær a reality.
The music is by Máni Svavarsson. Costumes and sets are a collaborative project of the theater company’s members. Gunnar Sigurðsson and Skúli Gautason designed the lighting.
Sólheimar Theater Company premiered the play Latibær by Magnús Scheving on April 22, 2004 – the first day of summer – under the direction of Edda Björgvinsdóttir.
The next shows of Latibær are today, Saturday 1 May 2004 at 15:00, Sunday 2 May at 15:00 (side show), Saturday 8 May at 15:00, Thursday 20 May at 15:00, Sunday 23 May at 15:00 and on Saturday 29 May at 15:00. Ticket price is ISK 700 for adults, 300 for 7 years to 12 years and free for 6 years and younger.
