Chloe Lang is the name of the ten-year-old American actress who plays Stephanie in the next season of the TV series about LazyTown, which is currently being filmed. Chloe is a great athlete who loves to sing and dance. She is excited to see herself on screen. What is your full name and how old are you?My name is Chloe Lang and I am 10 years old. Where are you from? I live in Connecticut,...
Dýri Kristjánsson is one of the most skilled gymnasts in the country. He is also Magnús Scheving’s double in LazyTown as the athletic Sportacus himself.
“Someone was needed to replace Maggi, and he had torn a muscle in his upper arm and was therefore unable to exercise much. He is also a very busy man, he is there for everything and has a lot on his plate,” says Dýri, who started in LazyTown about a year and a half ago.
“As those who have seen the show, Sportacus doesn’t walk around much like normal people. There are all kinds of jumps that he does, and that’s where I come to the stage. I have also been doing the children’s entertainment live show in the UK on weekends.
Among other things, I had to learn the Bing Bang dance that Sportacus dances, although dancing is perhaps not my strong point, even though my parents sent me to Heiðar Ástvaldsson’s dance school here that year! But this is just fun and Maggi and I are also the same size. For example, we use the same costume size, since there is only one size. On the other hand, Magnús says he’s a little bigger than me, muscle-wise!”
“People in Iceland don’t fully realize the popularity of LazyTown in the world, I think. In the UK it is one of the most popular among children. A good example of that is when the Spider-Man 2 movie came out last summer, Spider-Man toys arrived in stores, as it happens in the movie industry. However, the LazyTown toys were much more popular and disappeared from the shelves much faster than the Spiderman toys. Another example is when my partner from work decided to go as far away from Iceland as possible on vacation and went to Chile. He flopped down on the bed in the hotel and turned on the screen, and next to nothing, there was LazyTown in full swing.”
Dýri has taken on various situations for television where jumps and high jumps have to be used. However, he says there is little chance of going into a risky game in the future.
“Actually, my brother and I have sometimes talked about going into the gambling business. At least at first glance, it seems very charming. But we’ve never done anything with this idea, probably because of the low job security in that business, and I’m doing pretty well here at Kaupthing.
The LazyTown area is pretty well set up, although it is extremely physically demanding. You are completely exhausted at the beginning of the week after entertaining thousands of children in the UK and then fly back home to go to work. But it’s very rewarding and fun to put a smile on the children’s lips, otherwise you wouldn’t be doing this now.”
Dýri is 27 years old
He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2005 with a degree in economics.
He won a gold medal in the team competition at the Small National Games in 2007.
