Residents from LazyTown and their friends from far and wide performed in the Laugardal Sports Hall on Saturday, March 27, 2010. The LazyTown festival - Latibaer í Höllini - took place with a lot of trumpets and singing, and children of all ages had a good time with Stephanie's cheerfulness and the cunning tricks of Robbie Rotten, to name a few. In the lobby there were props of LazyTown to play ...
Icelandic fans of Sportacus and Stephanie can’t believe their luck. According to Fréttablað’s sources, the representatives of LazyTown have almost decided to put on a new LazyTown theater play in Iceland next year. Ten years will have passed since the play Glanni glaepur í Latabae (Robbie Rotten in LazyTown) broke all attendance records at the National Theater.
Subsequently, LazyTown began a large expansion to Europe, the United States and most recently South America, where this brainchild of Magnus Scheving has thoroughly succeeded. LazyTown theater shows have now been staged in both Mexico and the UK, and according to the latest figures, over one million tickets had been sold.
It is not known where and when the show will premiere. However, it can be expected that the theater play will be a big hit, as LazyTown goods now selling like never before. As far as Fréttablað can tell, it is still not clear whether a new Icelandic Sportacus will be sought or whether Magnús Scheving himself will wear the light blue superhero costume.
Also, it has not been confirmed whether Stefán Karl Stefánsson, as Robbie Rotten (Glanni glaepur), will repeat his role as the mean villain. The newspaper contacted Hlyn Sigurðsson, LazyTown’s information representative, but he neither wanted to admit nor deny that this was true.
