There was a lot of excitement during the rehearsal of Latibær – Sigurgeir Scheving’s adaptation of Magnús Scheving’s book Áfram Latibær – on Tuesday night, April 9. Preparations are being finalized here, and the premiere will be on Saturday April 13, 1996 at 16:00h.
Sigurgeir Scheving is currently acting and directing, and the production is based on Magnús Scheving’s bestselling book of the same name, which was published last Christmas. Kids know the book Áfram Latibær well.
There is a lot of singing in Áfram Latibær. Máni Svavarsson composed the music and the lyrics were created Guðrún Jónsdóttir. The author, Magnús Scheving, will be present at the premiere.
Behind this play lies a lot of work, as the Icelandic premiere is being renewed and the play is constantly being shaped. According to director Sigurgeir, these are songs and a play that appeals to everyone, and this is the first time for the whole family to have fun.
The message is exercise, healthier food and better health. Up to 40 people come to watch the play. The theater’s old roundabout is new in the play and by using this support it’s easier to get actors to the floor. Sigurgeir says that modern theater requires rapid changes and the roundabout allows it.
The premiere is on Saturday at 16:00h, second show on Sunday at 16:00h and the third show on Tuesday at 20:30h.
