Fréttir – April 15, 1996
Leikfélag Vestmannaeyja premiered Áfram Latibær on Saturday, April 13, 1996, with great support from the audience. There is a lot of singing in Áfram Latibær and Guðrún Jónsdóttir, a social worker at Vestmannaeyjar, had the honor of writing lyrics to the songs. Guðrún has taken part in theatrical productions at LV before, but the play of Áfram Latibær is different. The lyrics are fast-paced and appeal well to the younger generation. Guðrún shows the Islanders the other side this time.
Full name? Guðrún Jónsdóttir.
Date of birth and year? April 1, 1967.
Place of birth? Hvammstangi.
Family? cohabiting with Agusti Hreggviðsson.

How did you like the premiere of “Afram Latibær”? It was wonderful. It all came together and I’m very proud of “my people”.
Why did you try to compose the lyrics? This was an original and exciting project and Sigurgeir trusted me for it.
Have you ever done such writing before? Only for friends and colleagues in a closed group.
What comes to mind when you hear those words?
– Latibær? A great play that will hopefully get the attendance it deserves.
– The sports elf? A fun character that Hrund Scheving plays with incredible genius.
– Leikfélag Vestmannaeyja (Theater)? A company I should have started working with much earlier.
Anything in the end? Best thanks to the people from the city for a great reception at the premiere and hopefully the sequel will be good. AFRAM LATIBAR!
