– after seeing LV’s show of Áfram Latibær.
Magnús Scheving was among the guests at Leikfélag Vestmannaeyja Theater’s second performance of Áfram Latibær on Sunday, April 14, 1996. At the end of the show, he was called to the stage where he expressed his satisfaction with the acting and directing by his nephew Sigurgeir Scheving, the performance of the actors, and not the least his cousin Hrund Scheving who played the role of the Sports elf. He said that the characters had appeared to him as he had imagined them in the book.
“Nenni níski was as nice as he was supposed to be and Maggi mjoi was as narrow as I had thought. It has been planned to bring Áfram Latibær to the stages in Reykjavík, and of course the Vestmannaeyja Theater would be the first. As they had hoped and expected, it was done with great splendor and it’s great that my relatives had a part in the play” said Magnus.
In a conversation with Fréttir afterwards, Magnús repeated what he had said to us earlier: “I am very happy with the lyrics which are lively and fun. This is a show that no Islander can miss. Everyone who has worked on the project has made an effort to deliver my book in the best possible way, and it has succeeded. “
