Magnus Scheving continues his mission. Now he has awakened the imagery of playwrights and actors to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the youngest generation.
Today, the play by Magnús and Baltasar Kormák will be premiered based on the story of the people in Latabær. Magnús is in one of the role-players of the play. “It’s a sports elf that needs to move a lot and I find it very easy to do. This is now what I have been doing for the last 10 years” says the sports elf Magnús.
What kind of character is it?
“He is fast and a bit overactive. He decides to help the mayor with a sports festival and goes to visit all the kids. Siggi Sæti, who eats 70 caramels a day, Maggi Mjói, who never eats fish or meat, Halla hrekkjusvín who pranks and fights constantly, and Nenni Níski, who is so selfish that he prefers not to compete in any competition unless he wins. But I find the difference between violence and play most exciting, e.g. Halla, the bully, doesn’t know the difference. “
Do the kids get the message?
“As in all children’s plays, the message is hidden in the play. During the show, they were so excited when the competition was at its height, and when the thieves were going to steal the cup, it was all over.”
Cartoons are, to some extent, a model for the environment on set. The sound gets you in the mood, costumes are exaggerated and when laziness rules the town, the scene is black and white, but color comes in as the sports elf fulfills his mission: to prepare the townspeople for a better life and a healthier way of living.
Are you going to start an acting career?
“Well, I wouldn’t say I was the best actor in the world and could get away with the part. But it was decided that it would be easier to train acting skills for this role than to train actors the split.”
