Last Sunday, July 29, 2001, Búnaðarbanki and the Golf Association of Iceland organized golf lessons for children aged 3-11.
The teaching took place at “Ljúflingnum” – the training course of the Oddfellows Golf Club in Urriðavatnsdölum in Heiðmörk – and the basics of the sport were taught as well as competitions at the golf puzzles.
Competitions were held in different age groups and prizes were awarded for good results in all categories. The Sports elf and Solla Stirða were one of the Latibær residents who paid a visit. They warmed up the participants for the tough competition and took a sprint at the golf puzzles themselves.
A total of 430 children took part in the golf lessons and it was obvious that they went home happy after consuming sausages and soda.
